SGWS 8th Graders Make Art for Social Justice

Spring Garden Waldorf School eighth graders are proud participants in the art exhibit, “Can You Hear Me?” The exhibit seeks to bring awareness and promote social change in school communities by highlighting important issues school students face both at school and in larger society.

This annual exhibit is part of the Leading for Social Justice Art Exhibits — a collaboration between Kent State University, the Akron Art Museum, and The Cleveland Museum of Art. The Akron Art Museum will showcase the exhibit on Thursday, December 7th, from 11 am to 9 pm with a reception from 6 to 8 pm. ┬áThe event is free and open to the general public.

Spring Garden students participated in this important project for the second year in a row, as part of their eighth grade community activism curriculum.  Learn more about the exhibit and the event here at the Akron Art Museum website.
